54 monks attacked by corona, Belur Math closed again for indefinite days

A quarantine center is being set up in a three-storey building at Belur Math. For now, the victims will be kept there.

Belur Math was closed indefinitely again due to fear of Corona infection. Today, visitors have been barred from entering since Monday. It is learned that at the moment, at least 54 monks and 16 workers of Belur Math have been infected with the coronavirus. The authorities took this decision after their report came positive. A quarantine center is being set up in a three-storey building at Belur Math. For now, the victims will be kept there.

Earlier, Belur Math was closed from March 25 when the lockdown started. After that, Belur Math was opened on June 15 by issuing several restrictions following the government instructions. After that it is closed once again, even if it is opened. But so many people have not been infected inside Belur Math so far. So this time in the interest of everyone’s safety, it has been decided to close Belur Math indefinitely.

Meanwhile, the time for visiting Dakshineswara temple has been extended. The temple opens every day at 6:30 am. Visitation can be done till 12:30 pm. Darshan will start from 3:30 in the afternoon. It will continue till 7:30 pm. This new time has been implemented from 16th September.
