AICTE has made it clear that this relaxation is only for the 2020-21 academic year.

Due to Corona, like other institutions, it was decided to admit students in MBA and PGDM courses this year only on the basis of the marks obtained in the graduation examination. MBA and PGDM institutes will not take any entrance test this time. Janal All India Technical Education Council (AICTE).

AICTE has made it clear that this relaxation is only for the 2020-21 academic year. This will not be the case in future academic years.

Rajiv Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE, said that for admission to MBA or PGDM courses, all-India exams like CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT and Common Entrance Tests of the respective

states are taken. Some of these entrance tests could not be conducted in many states due to the risk of corona infection. No indication was found as to when the tests were suspended or when they could be held or canceled.

Therefore, in the present situation, PGDM and MBA institutions have been allowed to admit students on the basis of the marks obtained in the aptitude test by preparing merit list in a transparent manner. However, candidates who have appeared for any of the entrance exams will be given preference without looking at the graduation number, Kumar said.

The council has instructed the institutions that if vacant seats are available, the candidates should be selected on the basis of merit in the graduation examination.

Due to Corona, the educational institutions were closed from March 16 as announced by the Center. There is still no indication of when they will open.
