Ballia Murder Case : It was decided to take stern action against the MLA as his behavior could affect the image of the party before the Assembly by-elections.
The BJP made a show cause to MLA Surendra Singh to support the main accused in the Ballia murder. One of the leaders of the party admitted this on Monday.
It is learned that BJP all-India president JP Nadda has spoken to party chief independent Dev Singh in Uttar Pradesh about the issue. It was only after this that it was decided to take stern action against the MLA, thinking that his behavior before the Assembly by-election could affect the image of the party.
Despite many attempts in this regard, the reaction of Surendra Singh could not be known. However, on Monday morning, he said he would stay in Lucknow for two days and avoid Ballia murder case.
Surendra’s close friend Dhirendra Pratap Singh shot dead a local resident Joy Prakash Pal over a dispute over the distribution of two ration shops in Durjanpur village. The court has remanded him in custody for 14 days after his arrest in the incident. Surendra Singh sat down in the news in support of Dhirendra. Due to this, the state leadership of BJP sent him to Lucknow last Sunday. A leader of the group, who did not want to be named, said the MLA had been instructed to stay away from Ballia murder case and was not allowed to make public comments.

The cornered Surendra later told that ‘I really wanted to make sure that the arguments of both sides were heard. I told the leadership, I want the culprits to be punished. ‘
In a statement to the media, the MLA did not stop calling the accused Dhirendra Pratap a mere BJP member, but also went to the police station with a complaint against the accused’s family.
After his arrest on Sunday, Dhirendra Pratap Singh claimed that a group of miscreants led by Krishna Kant Yadav had shot at him and his accomplices in self-defense. But on Monday, Azamgarh DIG Subhash Chandra Dubey said Dhirendra had given a false statement. He was not the victim of any such attack. He will be prosecuted under the Anti-Hooliganism Act and the National Security Act, the police official said.
