Several people were injured in a clash between two groups in Assam after a land grab at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. After that curfew was imposed in Shanitpur district.
Manabendra Pratap Singh, deputy commissioner of Shanitpur, said a curfew had been imposed in the areas under Thelamara and Dhekiyajuli police stations in Shanitpur district. The curfew has been in force since 10 pm on Wednesday.
According to sources, the controversy started with the bike procession of Bajrang Dal. People from another community ask why such a bike procession is being held in Covid even though there are no rules. The quarrel started with this, then the clash started. Many bikes were set on fire.
A large number of police were deployed in the area. They tried to control the situation by firing in the air. Manabendra Singh said there are big law and order problems in the region. Some people are trying to spread violence in the name of protest and if this continues, the situation could get very bad, the police official said. That is why a curfew has been imposed which will continue till further notice.
