Complaint of not giving treatment as he is HIV positive. A young man has been lying in the hospital of Malda Medical College for a month and a half with a broken leg. Finally, he appealed to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to seek medical treatment. He also complained to the principal of the hospital.

According to the relatives of the patient, the young man, a resident of English bazar, fell from the third floor and broke his leg while doing paint work a month and a half ago. He was then taken to a nursing home in Malda. There comes a HIV positive report in his blood test. The nursing home authorities advised him to be transferred to a government hospital as therew no medical service for HIV positive people.

The family then admitted the youth to Malda Medical College and Hospital. Allegedly, the young man has not received any treatment since then. He has been lying in a hospital bed for a month and a half with a broken leg. Allegedly, the doctors could not arrange treatment for the patient despite repeated requests.

The patient’s family decided to inform the matter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They have sent a letter to the Chief Minister requesting medical treatment through the district magistrate. Complained to the principal of the hospital. Complaints have also been lodged with the head of the orthopedic department. The principal directed an investigation to find out why the patient was lying in the hospital without treatment.
